Zinc
Zinc is a micromineral that plays important roles in immunity, wound
healing, normal growth and development, reproduction, and various
metabolic processes. Recent research indicates that it may help
fight the common cold and other infections; it may also be useful
in treating fibromylalgia, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Zinc
is involved in well over metabolic process and body functions. Every
cell in the body requires Zinc, with the largest amounts concentrated
in the liver, kidneys, pancreas, bones, skin, eyes, and the prostate
gland. It is found in the drinking water of many areas and a variety
of foods, especially those high in protein. Although only very small
amounts of Zinc are needed, studies indicate that many Americans
don't get nearly enough of this mineral.
