Vitamin
B5 Pantothenic Acid is derived from the Greek term "pan"
in Pantothenic acid and means "everywhere." Along with
8 other B Vitamins, Pantothenic Acid is required for converting
food into energy; building red blood cells; making bile; and synthesizing
fats, adrenal gland steroids, antibodies, and acetylcholine and
other neurotransmitters which are chemicals that permit nerve transmission.
Pantothenic Acid in dexpanthenol lotions and creams relieves the
pain of burns, cuts, and abrasions; reduces skin inflammation; and
speeds wound healing.
Vitamin
B5 also helps reverse some of the deficiency symptoms related to
poor growth and development in the body. Some researchers think
that taking a higher dose of this can stop or limit hair from graying.
But mainly, Vitamin B-Pantothenic Acid has the most positive studies
show that this taken regularly can lower cholesterol-an accumulation
of which may cause heart attacks.
