Manganese
is an essential trace element that is a component of a number of
enzymes needed for metabolism; the body also uses it to build bone
tissue and connective tissue and carry out various other functions.
Manganese has an antioxidant affect that protects against tissue
damage from burning fats. Most Manganese is concentrated in the
bones, liver, pancreas, and brain. Manganese activates enzymes that
are necessary to form cartilage and connective tissue in bones and
skin as well as working with Vitamin K to promote proper blood clotting
and wound healing.
