Maca is a root that grows at extreme elevations high in the Andean Mountains of Peru . It looks like a little turnip or radish, and is a traditional staple food in Peru . Its Latin name is Lepidium Peruvianum Chacon. It's also known as Peruvian ginseng, or Amazonian ginseng, but isn't related to ginseng at all
Maca is known to contain various nutrients, including amino acids and minerals. Maca also contains sterols and fatty acids, such as linolenic, palmitic, and oleic acid.
